🙂What you get as a Rafting NL Apprentice🙂

🙂A minimum of three weeks of dedicated rafting training. This will include a minimum of 15 separate rafting trips, or over 90hrs of training on the water!

🙂A guarantied job as a part-time raft guide this summer if you complete your apprenticeship period and develop the necessary skills. Most guides will be ready to work by late July or early August!

🙂A guarantied job for the summer of 2024 as well! If you do well this summer we will give you first access to any full-time rafting jobs that open up for our 2024 season! If full-time work is not available, we will guarantee you a job as a part-time guide! Either way, you'll get paid well!

🙂A VERY fun and respectful working environment. At Rafting NL we accept as a fundamental truth that all people are equally entitled to respect and safety regardless of their gender-identity, ancestry, or beliefs. We are working hard to ensure that we offer a truly inclusive environment for our staff and our clients.

🙂A spot to pitch a tent! If you want to camp onsite you are more than welcome. Just keep in mind you will need to come self-contained. We will provide you with access to proper washrooms, running water, a hot shower, laundry facilities, and free wifi, but you will need to provide your own tent and have a plan for preparing your meals. You will be camping. There is a little space available as well in the fridge for groceries, but only for a couple days at a time. You do NOT have to live on site though! We are a 15min drive from Grand Falls-Windsor or a 10min drive from Badger.

So what's the catch? In exchange for the free training, each apprentice will be required to donate their time for a total of four river trips this season. Your job on the river will usually be taking pictures, but could also be working as a paddler for a trip, or helping transport gear. The unpaid trips will never exceed 6hrs and you will have a maximum of four. Any additional work will be paid. So basically you give us 24hrs of your time in exchange for at least 90hrs of dedicated training and UNLIMITED rafting trips for the season and UNLIMITED use of our canoes and kayaks!
