Humber River Float
Although the Exploits River has been our home based since 1997, we have a great deal of experience on many other great Newfoundland & Labrador rivers. New this year we are offering group flatwater trips on the stunningly beautiful lower Humber River stretching from Deer Lake to Corner Brook. This is arguably one of the most scenic rivers on the island and it makes for an easy and fun rafting adventure.
Your two-hour paddling adventure will begin in the beautiful community of Steady Brook at the base of Marble Mountain. When we embark on the Humber River, there will be an opportunity to go for a swim, or you can stay dry on the raft.
Floating down from Steady Brook, we’re surrounded by stunning cliffs on both sides of the river. The West Coast of the island of Newfoundland is known to offer some of the most beautiful scenery in the province, and what better way to take it all in? We’ll stop at about the halfway point and our guides will prepare you a custom-made charcuterie delight featuring local berries, fresh honey and treats as well as traditional meats & cheeses.
After our break, we reach the most scenic part of our adventure as we float by the famous “Man in the Mountain” cliff face just outside of Corner Brook. This is probably the most photographed cliff face on the island, and truly humbling from our view on the river. There are often small water falls on both sides of the Humber River through this section as well.
Our adventure ends just before the ocean as we pull off in Corner Brook to meet our shuttle.
